Cancellation & Refunds
You can cancel your Arconomy subscription at any time with no penalties or cancellation fees. This page explains the cancellation process, what happens to your strategies and data, our refund policy, and how to reactivate your account if you decide to come back.
How to Cancel Your Subscription
Cancelling your Arconomy subscription is straightforward and can be done entirely from your account settings. There is no need to contact support or go through a lengthy process.
- Log in to your Arconomy account at trade.arconomy.app.
- Click your profile icon in the top-right corner and select Account Settings.
- Navigate to the Subscription tab.
- Click the Cancel Subscription button at the bottom of the page.
- You will be asked to confirm your cancellation. Optionally, you can provide feedback on why you are leaving -- this helps us improve the platform.
- Click Confirm Cancellation to complete the process.
Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing cycle. You will continue to have access to all paid features until your billing period expires. No further charges will be made after you cancel.
Cancellation Timing
When you cancel, your subscription is not terminated immediately. Instead, it is set to expire at the end of your current billing cycle. This means:
- You keep full access to your paid plan features until the billing period ends.
- No partial refund is issued for the remaining days -- you have already paid for the full month and can continue using the service.
- You can continue to run backtests, manage deployed strategies, and use all features until the expiry date.
- Your account will automatically transition to the Free plan when the billing period ends.
The exact date your subscription expires is shown on the Subscription tab in your Account Settings after you cancel. You will also receive a confirmation email with this date.
What Happens to Your Data
When your subscription expires and your account transitions to the Free plan, your data is handled as follows:
Strategies
All of your strategies are preserved. They are not deleted when you cancel. However, if you have more strategies than the Free plan allows (more than 3), you will not be able to create new strategies or edit existing ones until you are under the limit. You can still view all of your strategies, but editing and creating are restricted until you either archive strategies to get under the limit or reactivate a paid plan.
Backtest Results
Your backtest history and results are retained indefinitely. You can continue to view past backtest results on the Free plan, including detailed trade analysis from backtests that were run with tick-level data on a paid plan. However, new backtests on the Free plan will be limited to 5 per month with end-of-day data.
Deployed Strategies
When your paid subscription expires:
- All strategies deployed to demo accounts are stopped. No further paper trades will be executed.
- All strategies deployed to live accounts are stopped. Any open positions will be closed at market before the strategy is fully stopped.
- You will receive email notifications about each strategy that is being stopped.
If you have live strategies with open positions, we strongly recommend manually closing your positions and stopping your strategies before your subscription expires. This gives you full control over how positions are closed rather than relying on automatic market-order closes.
Broker Connections
When your account transitions to the Free plan:
- All broker connections are disconnected from Arconomy.
- Your broker credentials and API keys are securely deleted from Arconomy's systems.
- Your broker accounts themselves are not affected -- they remain active with your broker. Only the link between Arconomy and the broker is removed.
- If you reactivate later, you will need to reconnect your broker accounts.
Account Deletion
Cancelling your subscription does not delete your Arconomy account. Your account remains on the Free plan with access to the Strategy Designer and limited backtesting. If you want to completely delete your account and all associated data, you can request account deletion separately:
- Go to Account Settings.
- Navigate to the Profile tab.
- Scroll to the bottom and click Delete Account.
- Confirm the deletion by typing your email address.
Account deletion is permanent and irreversible. All strategies, backtest results, deployment history, and account data will be permanently deleted. This action cannot be undone.
Refund Policy
Arconomy's refund policy is designed to be fair and transparent:
Standard Policy
Since you can cancel at any time and continue using the service until the end of your billing period, refunds are generally not issued for standard cancellations. When you cancel, you have already paid for the current month and retain full access to your plan's features for the remainder of that period.
Exceptions
We consider refund requests on a case-by-case basis in the following situations:
- Accidental duplicate charges -- If you were charged twice for the same billing period, the duplicate charge will be refunded in full.
- Service outages -- If a significant platform outage prevented you from using Arconomy for an extended period during your billing cycle, you may be eligible for a pro-rated credit or refund.
- First-time subscribers -- If you upgraded to a paid plan and realise within 7 days that it does not meet your needs, you can request a full refund of your first payment. This applies only to your first paid billing cycle and cannot be used more than once.
- Billing errors -- If a technical error resulted in an incorrect charge, the difference will be refunded.
Requesting a Refund
To request a refund, contact our support team with the following information:
- Your Arconomy account email address
- The date and amount of the charge you are requesting a refund for
- The reason for your refund request
We aim to respond to refund requests within 2 business days. If approved, refunds are processed back to the original payment method and typically appear on your statement within 5-10 business days, depending on your bank or card issuer.
Reactivating Your Account
If you cancel and later decide to come back, reactivating your account is simple. Since your Arconomy account remains on the Free plan after cancellation, all you need to do is upgrade again.
How to Reactivate
- Log in to your Arconomy account at trade.arconomy.app.
- Go to Account Settings and select the Subscription tab.
- Choose the plan you want to subscribe to and click Upgrade.
- Enter or confirm your payment details.
- Click Confirm to reactivate your subscription.
Your paid features will be available immediately after payment is processed.
What Is Restored
When you reactivate, your account picks up where you left off:
- Strategies -- All strategies you created before cancellation are still there. If you had more than 3, they become fully editable again once you are on a paid plan.
- Backtest results -- Your complete backtest history is available, including results from before you cancelled.
- Account settings -- Your profile, preferences, and notification settings are preserved.
- Broker connections -- You will need to reconnect your broker accounts since credentials are removed during cancellation for security reasons. See Connecting Your Account for instructions.
- Deployed strategies -- Previously deployed strategies will not automatically redeploy. You will need to redeploy them manually after reconnecting your broker.
If you are considering cancelling because of a specific issue or missing feature, reach out to us first. We may be able to help resolve the problem or let you know if the feature is on our roadmap.
Cancelling During a Promotional Period
If you signed up during a promotional offer or discounted period, the same cancellation rules apply. You can cancel at any time and retain access until the end of your current billing period. If you cancel during a promotional period, the promotional pricing will not be available if you reactivate later -- you will be charged the standard rate for your selected plan.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I cancel immediately and get a refund for unused days?
Cancellation always takes effect at the end of your billing cycle. We do not offer partial refunds for unused days within a billing period. You retain full access to your plan until the period ends.
Will my data be deleted when I cancel?
No. Your strategies, backtest results, and account data are preserved when you cancel. Your account transitions to the Free plan and everything remains accessible (subject to Free plan limits). Data is only deleted if you explicitly request account deletion.
What happens to my open trading positions?
If you have live strategies with open positions when your subscription expires, those positions will be closed at market and the strategies will be stopped. We strongly recommend managing your positions manually before your subscription ends.
Can I reactivate on the same plan I had before?
Yes. When you reactivate, you can choose any available plan. If you want the same plan you had before, simply select it during the upgrade process. Your strategies and data will be fully accessible again.
I am on the Free plan. Do I need to cancel anything?
No. The Free plan has no subscription and no charges. There is nothing to cancel. If you want to stop using Arconomy entirely and remove your data, you can request account deletion from your Account Settings.
